Reiki is a Japanese word meaning life force energy. 

Karuna is a Sanskrit word that means any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others or compassionate action. 

Reiki is a laying on of hands that balances the energy that flows through the body and extends beyond it. Reiki addresses chronic and accute conditions, gently and powerfully promoting balance among all the body's systems.

Reiki allows your body to relax at deep levels. Relaxing deeply enhances and protects your body's own healing system, which is your best defense against illness, the stress of modern life, and the toxins in our environment.

Reiki induces harmony in the body relieving emotional and energetic blockages, and reduces and releases stress. Reiki promotes restful sleep.

Reiki heals in the inner being as well as the outer auras, and enables a person to transform issues more quickly.

Reiki can help us to create a healthy mental and emotional atmosphere from which we can create solutions to problems we may have.  It can also help us to have a sense of optimism and confidence within ourselves, and it can enhance our creative skills and promote us to function more productively and efficiently.

Karuna®  and Usui Reiki Toning, Chanting, Drumming

Melissa Kaspar is a long time energy medicine practitioner and a certified Reiki Master Teacher in the Usui Shiki Ryoho Lingeage, and, a certified Karuna Reiki®  Master Teacher with the International Center for Reiki Training. Her Karuna®  teachers were Laurelle Shanti Gaia, one of the original Karuna Reiki® founders, and Michael Baird, both long time teachers with the International Center for Reiki Training and owners of the Infinite Light Center in Sedona, AZ.

She has studied with 6 different Reiki Master Teachers.  Melissa has a B.A. in Fine Arts and Psychology, and has graduate work in Art & Spanish as well. She has a recent certification as an Herbalist and has also been studying Flower Essences and the use of Essential Oils in healing. Melissa has studied & worked with healing stones & crystals and uses them with her Reiki. Melissa took an extensive and intensive stone healing workshop with Robert Simmons, author of Stones of the New Consciousness and The Book of Stones.  Melissa is a long time meditator, student of Tibetan Buddhism, Yoga and Qi Gong. Melissa is also a life long Artist and does works in Acrylics, & Watercolor, and has studied Navajo Weaving with traditional elder Mary Decker, and others.

Melissa gives Free Reiki Sessions to Cancer patients and their families on the 4th Thurs of the month from 10 am to 12pm at the Willamette Valley Cancer Center, call for info.

Melissa's life has been profoundly and wonderfully affected by the initiation of Usui Reiki and Karuna Reiki®  into her life and being, and she loves working with clients and participating in their healing. She also is very passionate about teaching Karuna®  and Usui Reiki and in sharing with her  students as they expand and grow. Melissa does Reiki on horses, cats, dogs, plants, & trees as well as people.

Melissa is a life long volunteer with experience in Hospices and cancer patients, Community Food Banks, Therapeutic Riding Associations, Special Olympics, Children's Hospitals, and with Senior Citizens.
